The Duke of Edinburgh Award (DofE) is a nationally recognised youth award which is highly valued amongst both education establishments and employers. It is an opportunity to have fun with friends, discover new interests and develop essential skills for life and work.
The Award has three progressive levels – Bronze, Silver & Gold. Parkside School currently offer the Bronze Award to students in year 9 and the Silver Award to students in the 6 form. We currently have 70 students taking part in the Bronze Award and 10 students taking part in the Silver Award.
Each Award consist of four sections (five at Gold) which involve helping the community or environment, becoming fitter and healthier, developing new skills and completing an expedition. Young people who take part in the DofE can tailor make their award to the activities they are interested in and enjoy making their award truly unique to them.
