Domestic Abuse

Parkside school is committed to providing support to students, parents and carers if they are victims or perpetrators of domestic abuse. This includes child to parent abuse and teenage relationship abuse.  We can provide support and advice by signposting to local specialist agencies who can help.

We are also an Operation Encompass School.

Operation Encompass is a police and education early information safeguarding partnership enabling schools to offer immediate support to children experiencing domestic abuse. The aim of the project is to support children who may be experiencing domestic abuse.

Operation Encompass provides confidential notifications, prior to the start of the next school day after an incident of police attended domestic abuse. The notification is sent to the specifically trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (known as key Adult). Parkside School’s Key Adults are Mrs Phillip, Miss Waterman and Mr Cariss. This sharing of information enables appropriate support to be given in school, dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child.
