Dance is taught at Parkside School through units of work in Year 7 and Year 8, and as an elective unit in Year 9. Students can study GCSE Dance in Year 10 and Year 11.
An 'Evening of Dance' performance takes place in December each year with students demonstrating performances in preparation for their GCSE exams. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their work to family and friends.
For students in KS3, there is also the opportunity to participate in our Dance Club on a Friday 3pm-4pm. This club is lead by an external, well qualified, dance teacher. Sports leaders also run lunchtime clubs that are open to all abilities.
GCSE students can rehearse on a Wednesday and Thursday after school with their dance teacher.
Jacob Wing, a Year 10 student, was this year invited to a classical ballet course ran by The Hammond. Leah Robinson, a Year 8 student, was also selected for Northern Ballet last year to perform in the Nutcracker.
